Comments:

The traction rod and the yaw-damper couples the first car-body bending mode and the bogie longitudinal vibration mode to each other. Instead of being two separate vibration modes they are now vibrating together. When the two modes vibrates in phase the eigenvalue has become lower than the original eigenvalues. When the two modes vibrates out of phase the eigenvalue has become higher than the original eigenvalues. For a rigid car-body the bogie longitudinal vibration mode was 9.50 Hz. For the free-free car-body bending mode the eigenfrequency was 9 Hz. When they are vibrating in phase the new eigenfrequency is now 5.96, and when they are vibrating out of phase the new eigenfrequency is now 14.45.
